Carl Hansen & Son was founded by cabinetmaker Carl Hansen in 1908 in Odense, Denmark. His son, Holger Hansen took over the business in 1934 but, unlike his father, Holger Hansen focused on some of the most talented emerging Danish designers and, in 1949, he began working with Hans J. Wegner. In 2002 Knud Erik Hansen, the third generation of Hansen’s family, led the company into a new phase by starting an internationalization project aimed at bringing the brand’s furniture to the rest of the world.
Today, the company produces high-quality furniture, including dining tables, chairs, wardrobes, footstools, sofas, tables and children’s furniture, committed to preserving the company’s artisan tradition and supporting it with modern production technologies.
